Seoul Lantern Festival FAQ
No, the Seoul Lantern Festival is held only at Cheonggyecheon and Uicheon. However, various festivals are held at Gwanghwamun Plaza in connection with Seoul Winter Festa, so please show your interest.
Yes, you can see the sculptures during the day, but we recommend nighttime viewing when they are illuminated.
Yes, it will operate normally during the same hours (18:00~23:00) on all days within the period.
It will be announced through the festival's official Instagram and blog. Checking right before your visit is the most accurate.
Cheonggyecheon area (Cheonggye Plaza to Samil Bridge) and Uicheon area (Ui Bridge to Ssanghan Bridge).
They will be illuminated daily at 6:00 PM and turned off at 11:00 PM.
It will run for a total of 24 days from Friday, December 12, 2025 to Sunday, January 4, 2026.
